A meeting, of representatives of the Country Racing Clubs was held to T day to discuss the imposition of income tax on racing, trotting, and 'iiuiit clubs using the totaiisator. Tho chairman, Mr. A. Bruce, of tho Thames,, described this tax (in view of the fact that racing clubs wero compelled to pay two and a half per writ, on the. gross, revenue, and had contributed generously to patriotio objects) as unjust and. inequitable.
