EVANS BAY CLUB ANNUAL . MEETING. ; , ; , . At the annual'meeting of the Evans Bay Swimming Club. Mr. 'I'. Gillespio occupied the chair. ' A satisfactory financial position was disclosed by the- bnlance-sheet. Liabilities were cash in hand totalled £■!: Os". 7d., while tho amount of assets was £34. In the report it was stated that although tho club really only started last, year there was" a membership of 250, and with the coming season an increased membership was anticipated. Now that Kilbirnie was' becoming so populous, it was considered that the City Council must make somo provision for the increasing bathing accommodation that would bo required,for the coming summer. It was decided to affiliate with tho New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association. Tho meeting passed a vote of congratulation concerning tho ■achievement of the scholars of the Ivilbirnic St.-jlo School, who were the winners of tho Royal Life-Saving Society's haudsomo shield.
