BARQUE ANTIOPE STRANDED

IN BLUFF HARBOUR

By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, September 14. Tho barque Antiope was stranded in Bluff Harbour at 6 o'clock to-night. Sho was bound from Hobarlr to Dunedin witli timber and scrap-iron,, and on nearing Now Zealand encountered a hurricane, which stripped her sails. A distress signal .for a tug was hoisted, and the tug was sighted at 4 p.m.., and tho Harbour Board's tug managed to get a line aboard, though it was too tough for tho pilot to board the barque. Coming up tho channel at half-tide a squall caught tho Antiope, and swung her out of tho channel,• and she stranded in shore from the lightship. An attempt will bo made to get her off at high tide.
