FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications aro lor southerly winds, strong to gale, the barometer rising everywhere. Weather cold and squally, with heavy showors in most parts of tho country, and unow on thehigh levels in tho south. Very boisterous weathor has boon experienced, with rain generally. Considerable snow has also fallen in tho southernmost districts and in tho high, country of the South Island.
