FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for stormy weather with rain generally, and heavy rain with rivers flooded southward of New Plymouth and C<istlepoiint. Expect westerly sales, hacking to southcrlics, the barometer rising fast intho south soon. A cold snap following. A rapidly moving westerly area, of low pressure of unusual intensity has overspread the Dominion since last night, and westerly winds have increased strong to gale in and southward of Oook Strait.
