LIVE STOCK SALES
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly stock axle" at Mailer's Road yards, Danncvirke, on September 8. The entry comprised a, medium yarding of sheep and cattle, chiefly springing heifers. The majority of the sheep entry was passed in at auction, the bidding failing to roach the. vendors' reserves, but most of the hoggets were placed privately. The principal sales wcro os follows:— Hoggets, 235. to 265.; poor-conditioned heifers, £4 10s. to £5; medium springing heifers, £7; while o nice- pen of six heifers, tho entrj,- 'ot Mr. Imxford Pccti, realised £11. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., roport:—At'Eketahuna, on Friday, we had a, fair entry of cattle, no sheep coming forward. Competition for good dairy heifers a.nd cows and steers was keen, and a total clearance was made at the following rates:—Dairy heifers, £7 10s., to £8 10s.; fair-conditioned thrcoand four-year steers. £13 Is.; low-conditioned ditto, £9 18s. 6d.; aged milk-cart hone, £12.
