(Cook-Baker) Freeman, to be corporal cook-baker; Pte. E. J. Kalchert, 18th Specialist Company, to he corporal; Pte. J. F. G. Blackwood, 18th Specialist Company, to be corporal; Sergt. T. C. Muir, 19th M.R., to ho sergeant-major; Corpl. G. S.. Ross, 10th N.Z.F.A. (Howitzer Battalion), to ,be quart/Tinaster-scrgeanfc. The Carap Commaudant at Featherston acknowledges receipt of the following gifts, which have been distributed as under:—34 sacks of vegetables received from Mr. Christie, of AVhenuakura, and distributed to the various cookhouses; seven cases of hooks received from sh«l "K," AYellington (donor unknown), and distributed to the various institutes; six cases of received from Secretary Lady Liverpool's Fund. / Christchurch, and distributed to 18th Canterbury Koinforcemonts. The new Presbyterian Institute at Featherston Camp which has now been completed will be officially opened shortly. It has been occupied for the past few days, and will be a welcome addition to the social life of the camp. Its predecessor in the camp was rather a small building for the purpose. The now building cost £1200, and has been completed free of debt.
