In an advertisement appearing in another column of this issue, the Public Trustee invites tenders for the leasing of tho farm property of the late Mr. Charles Rooking Carter, Carterton, comprising an area 0f'2167 acres, subdivided into 15 farms, suitable for either dairying or agriculture. This property is held by the Public Trustee as an endowment for the Carterton Home for . Aged Poor Men, which was founded by tho late Mr. C. R. Carter under his will. By virtue of recent legislation the Public Trustee was authorised to lease the property for a term not exceeding 21 years, with a perpetual right of renewal, and leases in this- form are offered in tho renditions of tender. The. closer settlement of .this valuable property will be of direct advantage to the Carterton district, and it will, it is hoped, at tho same time substantially augment the funds of the home.
