MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., presided over Saturday's sitting of the Magistrate's Court.For insobriety, Lipda Catherine O'Connor was fined £2, Henry Knox £1, and George Saville 10s. Alfred Adey was ordered to forfeit two days' pay for being absent from the steamer Arawa; also to pay 14s. expenses: William M'Alindon was sent to gaol for threo months on' a chargo of being idle and disorderly. On a chargo of obstructing a constable- who requested him to stop his taxicab, Howard Spackman was'fined £1. with-'expenses amounting to 13s. Tedor Kardonni was remanded till to-day on . a charge of deserting his ship. Evan Piessroft, alleged to bo a prohibited immigrant, was remanded till to-day. Edward Foreman, charged with breaking, entering, and theft, was further remanded till September 14. Eva Grell. against whom is standing a charge of assisting in the keeping of a house, of ill-fame,'was remanded till to-day. •
