SWEEPING RESOLUTIONS. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. (Rec. September 10J 5.5 p.m.) London, September 8. The Trade Union Congress . passed resolutions protesting against child labour in agriculture-; condemning the system of fines in factories; advocating the conscription of wealth; urging that the. cost of tho war and the reconstruction after tho war should bo mot by taxation of capital and personal wealth; deploring the increase of Chinamen in British ships, and the opium dens in British ports, and urging the proper manning of ships, delegates declaring that shipowners would bo content *to use monkeys if they were trainable, the shipowners' only concern, being to get vessels away from port, and protesting against tho increased cost of living. ■ The delegates attacked. the Labour Exchanges, which were costing £280,000 sterling" yearly, and iserved mainly to supply blacklegs.

THE NEXT CONFERENCE. OVERSEAS,UNIONS INVITED. (Rec. September 10, 11.30 p.m.) London, September 10. The Trado . Union Congress. has closed. Thirty resolutions were carried practically without discussion, including tho extension and development of kindred ties between the Motherland and the Dominions. The trade unions are inviting the latter to participate in the next Congress.
