SOLDIERS ON THE LAND
MIGRATION BOARD SUGGESTED Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. (R«c. September 10, 5.5 p.m.) London, September 8.Mr. Bonar Law (Secretary of State for the Colonies), in replying to a deputation concerning land settlement by. ex-service men after the war, said: "Our first duty is to keep as many at Home as possible, but if they emigrate owing to the formidable competition of attractive colonial offers, tlie Government's • duty is to _ keep the emigrants within the Empire." Tho land, settlement deputation re-' commended the formation of an Imperial Migration Board, representing the Imperial and Oversea Governments. , ■ ■ Mr: Bonar -Law said something of the sort must be done, but the question was a difficult one. The Government was trying to solve the problem, and he hoped soon to establish effective machinery.' '
