The Rev. Dean Hyknd was an inward passenger by the Maitaj yesterday. Mr. H. H. Cramp, of the Sydney house of Cramp and Co. is a through passenger by the Maitai. He is returning home after a trip to America and tho East. Mr. Thomas Aiken, of Wauganui, arrived back in Now Zealand by the Maitai yesterday. Mr. Jack Roopar, who comes from Engliind to act as goneral manager for New Zealand of, the C. and D. Steamship Line, arrived by the Maitai yesterday; Mr. Booper is a grandson of Sir Thomas Royder, founder of the Indra Line of steamers.' Some of these have been trading to New Zealand for many years, under the auspices of the Tyser Line, and some are now merged in tho Commonwealth and Dominion "Cine. Mr. H. 0. Corry, director of the company, is at present in Wellington to meet Mr. Hooper, after which he will return to Australia. Major F. J. W.Gascoigne, of Hastings, has been advised that his nephew, Roy Greenwood, who wae reported killed, is still alive, and is in hospital in France. Lieutenant P. J. Colton, of the Main Expeditionary Force, who was wounded at Gallipoli, and who has been tho guest of Mr. H. E. Gridlestono, Muritai, goes into oamp to-<3ay to rejoin his unit. . ' Mr. H. W. Bishop, S.M., has received a cablo message from his son (Mr. A. W. Bishop), who relinquished his practice as a barrister and solicitor in Christchurch in order to enlist, stating -that he is in an officers' training camp in Ireland. Mr. T. F. Sutherland, Chief livspector of Mines, Toronto, and a member of the Canadian Nickel Commission, is visiting tho Dominion.
