SADIES' HOCKEY

ASSOCIATION MEETING,

A' special meeting of the New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Association wa held last evening. Mr. J. 0. Cusack (Auckland) was in the chair, and the following delegates were present':—Mr. G. Moses (Poverty Bay), Miss MacKay (Buller), Miss Saunders (Canterbury), Mr. Murray (Otago), Mr. Robinson (Southland), Miss Simon (Wellington), Miss Harvey (Wairarapa),- Mr. Manning (Manawatu)., jind Mr. Jackson (Hawko's Bay). It was decided, on the motion of Miss Saunders, that the council should approve of the action of the committeo, in allotting the net proceeds of th» tqumamont to the Patriotic Society in tlie town where the tournament is held. • ' Miss Simon moved that hooking sticks should not be allowed. This was agreed to. A recommendation to the Management Committee to remit all affiliation fees for the season 1916-17 was carried. The chairman ruled that the'allocation of a place of tournament must be decided by the council, was the interpretation of the meaning of Rule 1. of the tournainent rules. "In. case any difference of opinion arises as to the meaning of any rule, audi difference shall be decided by the council only," was a motion moved by Mr. Manning and carried. On the motion of Mr. Manning Rule 29 was amonded to read that if the fees of any affiliated association are not paid by Juno 30 in each year, the association shall be suspended and shall cease to have representation until such fees are paid'and shall not have a vote at any. council meeting. It was decided, on the motion of Mr. Maiming, that July 31 be tho last day on whic,h application for the holding of the tournament in any district will he received. - FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. Tho following aro tho fixtures, grounds, and referees for to-morrow:— Ladies' Association.—Representative match between Manawatu and Wellington, No. 1, Karori Park; referees, Messrs. Manning and Cusack. Men's Association.—Representative matoli between Trenthn'm and Wellington, No. .8, Karori Park; referefe, Mr. Lloyd. The following will represent Wellington j—Loader, Lyons, Smith, Piehards, Whittaker, G. Ballantviie, Cameron. Dawson, Murray, M. Ballantviie, and Hunter. 1 Five A-Sido Tournament. First Round.—No. 1, Y.M.C.A. v. Hutt Valley A; No. 2, KaTori v. Y.M.C.A. B; No. 3, Hutt Valley B v. University. Second Round.—No. 4, winners of No. 1 v. winners of No. 3; winners of No. 2, a bye. Final.—Winners of No. 4 v. winners of No. 2. Referees, Messrs. Perrin and Sherwood. The ladies' games will start at 2.45 p.m., and tho men's games at 3 p.m.
