A continuanco of boisterous conditions is likely in and southward of Cook Strait, with further heavy rain and rivers flooded in WesLland and Otago. * Expect westerly winds, strong to gale, and an unsteady barometer. ' An inteneo atmospheric depression still overlies the South Island, and. has been responsible for westerly goies southwards of New 1 Plymouth and Castlepoint. In tlio southernmost districts stormy conditions, with very heavy ruin, have been eipori enced, and considerable rain has also fallon' in tho western districts of tho .Squally and gloomy conditions havo prevailed Generally, except in tho extreme north, where the weather has been more favourable. i B.
