HUTT LICENSING COMMITTEE

The quarterly sitting of the Hutt Licensing Committee was held yesterday at tho Lower Hutt Court, 'and was presided over by Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M. There were also present: Messrs. J.'W. M'Ewan, M. Welch, J. Cotton, and J. Cudby. The Chairman stated that the police report on the hotels in the district was very satisfactory, with the exception of the Bellevuo Hotel, which, it was stated, had not been conducted in the manner it should have been. A transfer was granted of tho Central Hotel, Petone, from S. Gibbs to F. C. Warring. Inspector Hcndrey stated that ho intended to oppose the continuation of the Bellevue license in. tho name of N. S. Campbell, as. three convictions had been recorded' against this licensee. He was, however, now ■;'fornied that a transfer was being arranged, and that being the case he would .not oppose the continuation.
