AVi Neera broke away in Jus own Half, and tile country lads swept down the held. Kowo was again called upon, and saved'well. Jones, tor City, was putting in some lino work at luilback. iianda were given against Wellington right in front of me Country goal, burko secured and shot straight for goal, Hammond making st brilliant save. After same give and tako play Colomb secured, ano, going ou his own, scored. Wellington, i; Country, nil. From the kick-olf good work by Nash and Maddocks was shawn, and Colomb had another shot, which the Country keep stopped well, the rebound being trapped By Nash, who cleverly put on tho finishing touch. Wellington, 2; Country, nil. From the kick-oft Colomb broke away in his own half, and boating all opposition scored. Wellington, 3; Country, nil. Tho visitors came away from tho kick and Wi Neera shot, Kowo making a brilliant save, and repenting the same almost immediately. i'Vom a scentro from Lambert and Wanden City conceded a corner, which the wind spoiled. Half-time • was sounded shortly after.
Wellington kicked off, and Davis securing shot tho ball, just missing tne posts. Wellington still pressed, and Thompson ■' conceded a corner, which Burko.sent behind and Country came again, and Wanden gave away a corner which was nicely placed, Kowe saving well. Country, not to be denied, came once more, but WiNeera's shot wont behind. Good play by Lambert and Wi-Neera was spoilt by tho wind, the ball going over the lino. From tho kick off Colomb secured, and Hammond brought off a lovely save. Country pressed! hard, and Wi Neera had hard luck in not scoring. Hands against James was weakly taken by •Thompson, and Wellington wero away, again. Nash and Maddocks, from good play by Ward, broke away, and Maiddocks centring beautifully, enabled Colomb to score. Wellington, 4: Country, 0. Wellington still continued to press, and Colomb was pulled up close to goal for offside. Tho right wing, Nash and Maddocks again broke away, the latter sending the ball over the bar. Country made another effort, and Wi Neera sent in a hard shot, whioh was well saved by Rowe: Wellington wero having the best of the game, and wero playing very well against the .wind, and tho Country goalkeeper was called on to save time after time.
Thompson for Conntry ; and Burko for "Wellington wero playing fino football, the former getting his side out of trouble repeatedly. Wellington's right wing again got going and Nash's effort hit the post. Tho Country lads took a hand, and Arthur shot, Rowe saving finely. Wi Neera made nn excellent ran, but was not supported by his wings. Give-and-take play followed till time, Wellington finally -winning "by 4 goals to nil. Mr. F. Bowles: was referee. . / .
