' TWO PLAYERS SUSPENDED. Tile Management of the Wellington Rugby Union met last evening. Mr. D. Weir,presided, and tliero were present also: Messrs. D. Madden, R. B. Magee, A. C. Kitto, J. N. Millard, W. Donovan,.W. Hornig, G. Howe, and H. Buck. G. Osborne apjlied for a transfer from the Upper Hutt to the Lower Hutt Club.'- The application was declined. , „ Mr. J. P. Firth, Wellington College, wrote expressing appreciation of the great trouble taken by the union to make satisfactory arrangements for the carrying out of the recent College tournament. A. A. Baker, Poneke, was declined permission to play for Athletic on Saturday. A Fifth Grade Petone player was before the union respecting a latter from Referee H. Paton, stating that the player in question had iised his fists in a match against Athletic. Tho player stated that lie had hit an opponent, but had done so under provocation. It was decided to suspend -the player till tho end of the season. This was considered ft light penalty, _ and it was made light, as tlie. committee thought the lad '•ad been vory frank over tho matter. A Poneke player was suspended until lie appears beforo the union. The charge against liim is one of striking a St. Patrick's College playor after a match last Saturday.
