Wellington Choral Union. ATTout 70 members and friends of the above union foregathered on Monday evening, when a very enjoyable evening was spent in a euchre tournament and musical programme. Tlie gathering was the first of a series inaugurated with the object of trying to increase ■the membership, which has suffered to a great extent by the present war.. The euchre tournament was in charge of Miss Segrieff, Miss Hogg, and Mrs. Fortune, and the winnersi were; Ladies, Miss Gamble; gentlemen, Mr. Hilyer. A musical programme followed, and the following contributed items:— Mr Robertson, a solo; Messrs. Cooper and Hill, a duet; Mr. Dickinson, violin solo; and Mrs. Hempton also sang. Tlie social was in charge of Mr. A. 11. Miles, who acted as M.C., and had with him as secretary Mr. W. N. Hawkehead, and Mr. J. R, Burley as treasurer. ...
