SUNDAY-SCHOOL PRIZES
Prize night for the children in Sunday schools belonging to tho Sunday School Union was celebrated by a happy ceromony in St. John's Schoolroom last night. Mr. Alexander Johnston, president of the Sunday School Union, was in the chair, and as there were about 300 prizes and ccrtificate.i to be presented to children from thirtysix schools, the gathering was n largo one. The prizes were presented by the Mayoress (Mrs. J. P. Luke), who had a smile and a word of congratulation for every proud prize-win-ner, and the certificates were presented by Mrs. T. H. Gill, Mrs. A. R. Atkinson, Miss Helyer, and Miss Rainforth. This ceremony occupied most of the evening. Items of entertainment wore contributed by Miss Ethel Sullivan. Miss Iris Trim, and Miss Daphne Dryden.
Her Excellency tho Countess of Liverpool will bo present at the annual meeting of the Women's National Reserve, to bo held this evening in the Concert Chamber, Town Hall. The Hon. 6. W. Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, will address tho gathering. Much interest is being taken and a large attendance is expected. All friends interested are invited to be present.
