BAVARIAN PREMIER ON RUMANIA'S INTENTIONS New York, September 3. ,Karl von Wcigand, in a wireless dispatch to the "New York Globe," reports an interview with Count von He riling, Premier of Bavaria, who admits tho great importance of the intervention by Rumania. Tho Count says.:—"lt appears certain that Rumania in the near future will become one of the most tragic and most terrible of battlefields. What that means to Rumania must be learned from Belgff'm, Poland, and Serbia. Whatever the outcome, Rumania will be drawn under the wheels. It is significant that the Entente has been compelled to cajole the smaller nations into the war. This is heartless and merciless) coming from a great nation' like England. With the entry of Italy and Ruinania, Germany has to face a third winter of terrible conflict." Count von Hertling said ho could not understand ,the pronounced extensive anti-German sentiments in America. Perhaps tho N sinking of the Lusitania is the cause, but in tho submarine* question Germany gave up her most effective weapon against England for no other reason than to show a sincere desire to maintain friendly relations with America.
