THE SOMBRERO CASE,
DISQUALIFICATIONS IMPOSED. 'Br Teleeraph—frees Association. Dutiedin, September 1. The Dunedin District Committee considered the Sombrero case last -night. The horse fell dead in a race at RivertOn at Easter, and the' Government Analyst was of opinion that death had resulted from arsenical 'poisoning. The Riverton Club inquired into the matter, but failed to come to a decision. The stipendiary steward took the matter up, tho result beinc the inquiry held Inst night. '. It was resolved that Alexander Chisholm, practising veterinary at Otautau, be disqualified for life, and that Thomas Ambrose, a stable lad employee, Mr. Hymers's horses, and the owner be disqualified-for five years. fSorabroro was h New South Walesbred gelding by Simmer—Toque. On the second day of the.liiverton Easter Meeting Sombrero ran third in a field of three in the Easter Handicap, one mile and a quarter. Later in the afternoon Sombrero took part in the Farewell Handicap, one mile, and dropped dead after the race.]
