SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

A popular concert was given last night at the Sailors' Friend Society by t'lie Misses Van Staveren before a delighted audience. As usual at these concerts tho solos and recitals were given with finish. Tho men rendered soveral items. The short story competition caused much merriment. Mr. Moore, missioner, was in the chair, and he thanked those who kept up the supply of books, etc., for outgoing vessels. Cheers rewarded the Misses Van Staveren, Pearson, Webb. Mrs. Flanagan, Rev. Van Stnveren,, and Messrs. Flanagan, Stride, Washington (Durham), .ami Ross. Tho debate on Wednesday on tho "Go-slow Production" was very helpful.
