A leading hotelkeopor says that his bar trade depreciated 33 per cent. Other publicans in the centre of the city say that their takings dropped 25 to 30 per ccnt. It is thought that when people become more acquainted with tho l ew order 1 of things and the disinclination to enter a hotel alone- passes off trado will pick up, but even then the depreciation in bar receipt? of, roughly, 10 to 15 per cent, is anticipated.
