MILITARY CAMPS
; NO CHANGE IN TRAINING ARRANGEMENTS. The mobilisation of the Twentieth Reinforcements, at Feathereton has given rise to a report that the periodic transfer of drafts from one camp to another would'he abandoned. It lias " been suggested that in future monthly reinforcements would go into the two permanent camps alternately, each draft completing its training in the camp in which, it was mobilised. -Colonel Gibbon, Chief of the General Staff, told a Dominion reporter yesterday that no change of the kind indicated was contemplated. The transfer of drafts from Trcntham to Feathers ton after the preliminary training, and the march back to Trcntham across the Rimutakas, Were important features of the syllabus, and there was no reason why an alteration of the system should bo mado. Featherston Camp does not possess a rifle range, though units can be taken from that camp to the Papawai range without much difficulty. It has been suggested that a rifle Tange might bo provided at Pigeon Bush, but this work will not.be undertaken at present. Featherston may be provided with a miniature range, but the regular musketry courses will continue to be fired at Trentham. It is announced in Routine Orders that A, B, C, D, -and E companies, Nineteenth Infantry Reinforcements, • will move from Tauherenikau Canm to Trentham on Saturday next. Tliey will take their musketry course, table A, next week. Tho Nineteenths were removed from Trentham during tho recent outbreak of 'Sickness.
