■ SENSATION IN BERLIN THREATENED COUP IN - GREECE VEIZPS IN THE ASCENDANCY BIG PUBLIC DEMONSTRATION After keeping tie spectators of the great war drama 011 the tiptoe of expectation and suspense for over two years, Rumania, ijas at last declared .herself as an ally of the Entente Powers,' and, suiting the action to the word, has launched an offensive in Transylvania. This long deferred decision has been hailed with delight in all the capitals of the Allies, and received with the utmost chagrin in Vjenna and Berlin. M. Jonescu, the Rumanian statesman, declares that the advent of his'country as a belligerent will hasten the conclusion of the war by at least six months. 'Action . by Rumania has all along been regarded of the'highest importance to the general, strategical'situation—the sea and land blockade of the Central Empires is now an accomplished fact—there is no gap . anywhere. Events in Greece are hastening towards a crisis. King Constantino is ill; M. Vehizelos is in the ascendancy, and very little is now wanted to start a chain of events which might lead . to' anything.
