DETECTED IN UNITED ST.ATES Anstralian-Ifew Zealand Cable Association, Now York, August 25. The New York "World" says that arrests made in connection with a plot for tho • alleged smuggling of 25,000 dollars of jewellery into the United States' revealed the existence of a prir vate ship express whereby Germans in New York regularly sent and received letters from their agents in Copenhagen by Scandinavian vessels. It is alleged that the system violated tho United States statutes and defeated the British censorship. The "World" says that a representative'of the Deutsche Bank admits giv< ing as much as a hundred dollars foi the conveyance of a letter to Copenhagen. The extent to which the system had been used will he investigated.
