The Chilian Government has placed the yacht Yelcho at Sir Ernest Shackleton's disposal for a new attempt to reach Elephant Island "to rescue the men, or the scientific material if the men have succumbed." Sir Ernest Shackleton plans to sail in a few days. SHACKLETON'S THIRD ATTEMPT. (Router's Telegram.'. (Rec. August 27, midnight.) Buenos Ayres, August 27. Shackleton has left Puhta Arenas aboard the Yelcho on his third attempt to rescue the marooned men on Elephant Island.
