BOARDING STEAMER SUNK

TWENTY-FOUR LIVES LOST Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. (Rep. August 27/5.5 p.m.) London, August 26. The Admiralty report that the hoardtog steamer Duko of .Albany (1997 tons) was torpedoed and sunk in the North Sea. Twenty-four perished. The Duko of Albany was sunk hy a submarine on Thursday. Commander Ranage, Engineer-Lieut. Maskell, and twenty-two men wore lost, and eleven officers and seventy-six men were saved. [The Duke of Albany was owned by the Lancashire and Yorkshiro and London and North-Western Railway Companies.]
