The Pakuranga Hunt Club Meeting will bo held at lillerslio to-day. l-intries for the Wangunui Jockey Club's Spring Mooting close on Holiday. Acceptances for the Marton Meeting ore due on Monday. Trainer J. H. J'efferd will take a team north for tho Avondale Meeting. Chortle will accompany them, but he is not likely to be raced, as the course would uot 6uit him. The District. Committee of tho Auck-land-Racing-Club has advised all jockeys that they must attend the tracks and ride work.. .This, is a.very wise movo, and might well bo copied by other bodies. J. H. Prosser will send Portland Lady and Tiiiiira to tho Marton Meeting,.and if their showings are satisfactory, they will also race at Wnnganui. Tauira has been off the scene for a number of years, and it will be interesting to see if ho can-regain -.his form.

There:was u general complaint at Danneyirko that the double, in front of the Btaiid was not wide enough. As these fences are easily removed, there seems to., be-no good reason why they should not extend right across the course. Ilero is a tip for Secretary Vf. Jl'Kenzie, of the Manawatu Hunt Club.

Doon, who has been in work at Trontham for so'mo time past, has so far not been, jumped, but she will probably bo schooled nest week. At her last appearance under silk Doon accounted for Hurakia,~. who subsequently won the Grand National Hurdles.

Mr. AV. J. Douglas lias received cabled Rdvice ; that his recent purchase, Mountain Knight, was shipped by the Moeraki, which left. Sydney an Thursday. The brown -horse, who is to take up stud duty at Te Mahangn. will arrive on Monday.

Several prominent sportsmen identified with T. P. Quinlivan's stables, have gone to Sydney. Rumour is very busy with the swallow-catching proclivities of one member of the team who is a maiden. :

A new arrival at the Poririia stable is a two-year-old. filly by Maniopoto, from tho New Zealand Cup winner, Lady Lucy. She was bred .by Mr. A. J. Toxward, in whose colours she will race.

Mr. J. J. Corry, of Blenheim, has purchased the Varco mare, Limpet, from "Mr. K. Acton Adams, and she will be sent to Sydney by next week's boat. Limpet showed a lot of pace over short courses here, and she should pay her way well at the pony meetings in 'Sydney.

All going well in the meantime, I". Davis will take a team north for the Avondale meeting, and hi will have a runner in both the Stakes and the Guineas.

. Mr. B. Acton Adams, one of the principal patrons of the Porirua stable, hails from the Otago district. Ho intends some of his youngsters to race at the Spring Meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club, and Rocksalt (Rokeby-Ilma) will carry sids colours in the Dunedin Stakes, while the Wellesley Stakes winner, Kockbound, will start in the Guineas. L. Wilson will go south to ride tho pair.

The winner of the big handicap at Marton, if engaged in the New Zealand Cup, will have to put up a penalty of 31b. if not handicapped at woight-for.' age or over. The New Zealand Cup horses engaged include Square Deal, Mon*tana, Hyllu6, Maniaroa, Tangihou, Wha. kapoki, and Bronk Delaval.
