AUTHORITIES' MAKE- CHARGES -' AGAINST A CONTRACTOR. ' The first intimation 1 of' the Government's intention. in regard to certain alleged breaches of contract by clothing manufacturers in the production of clothing for the troops. was given 'yes-. ' terday at the Magistrate's Court,, when Abraham Levy, tailor, of Wellington, was charged as follows :— ■ "That on Juno 23, • 1916,.'at Wellington, he did wilfully' break a contract made .by'-him with.the Crown, to wit, a contract for the supply of military uniforms." ':- ,- . -. ■ ■ :"<;•■ There are seven- other similar charges- preferred against defendant on various -subsequent dates.- - The information was -laid by Arthur M. Adams, in charge of the Military i Supplies Purchase. Office for-the New Zealand Government. - - Mr. P.- S. K.
