Foreign Affairs), stated definitely, that no peace overtures of any kind nad Keen made to Great Britain. Lord Robert Cecil added that there was only one way of making over, tdres, namely, by a communication from the enemy's .Government to the JVitish Government. Asked whether there had been any indirect overtures. Lord Robert Cecil wplied: "At no.time," adding that it Vould not be advisable ,to go further into that question now.
