LOCAL AFFAIRS ALONG THE LINE FRENCH REPULSE AN ATTACK ON FLEURY Australian-New Zealand. Cable Association. London, August 21. Sir Douglas Haig reports : "The enemy heavily bombarded our linos and made three bombing attacks in tho early morning at High Wood. Northwest of High Wood some of our covering patrols withdrew before a strong enemy force, who did not progress under our fire. The enemy bombarded us at Ppzieres, and used gas shells north-east of Contalmaison. Enemy raids north-east of Hulluch, east of Leplantin, succeeded in reaching our lines at one point, but tho raiders were quickly driven out.
