CONTROL OF WOOL DISTRIBUTION
WAR OFFICE COMMITTEES METHODS OF WORKING Australian-New Zealand Oable Association, (Rec. August 22, : 9.15 p.m.) London, August 21. Tho War Office has appointed a Central Advisory Committee for England and Walos on matters arising from tho purchase and distribution of English wool. Mr. A. H. Illingworth, M.P., is chairman, and tho committee includes representatives •of tho wool growers, wool buyers, spinners, and manufacturers. Similar committees have been appointed in Scotland and Ireland. A considerable quantity of wool has already been purchased. The War Offico announces that wlien the wool is allocated for existing British and Allies' Government contracts or for non-Government purposes, the prices will bo based on current market rates, but at present the wool will bo allocated for jion-Goverument purposes only where special circumstances or hardships can be shown.. Tho wool will be issued for future War Office contracts at fixed prices, and the price paid by the War Office for yard cloth will bo based on the price at which the wool has been supplied. During their trip they have been strongly impressed by the necessity for the utmost endeavour.
