FROZEN MEAT MARKET. , Messrs. Gilbort. Anderson, and Co. (Messrs Mdlaop, Ellott, and 00.. Palmerston North, local agents), report on tho frozen meat market under date London, June 23, as follows:— Home-grown.—Market well supplied, and a, lower, tendency, best quality alone maintaining lata rates. Iri6h sides of beef plentiful. Frozen—An unusually short supply of lambs in the trade. This coming at a time . when tho season is at its height has caused great embarrassment to tho retailers. A good: quantity of wether sheep has been released by the Government, however, which, has alleviated the position somewhat. Argentine . lambs and sheep have suffered a slight check, the demand being insufficient to cope with tho increased quantities on offer. Chilled beef has fluctuated during the week, tho market on Monday, being almost bare, but well supplied, towards the end. Market prices for week ending:— • .
