SWIMMING
At the public tepid swimming bath on Saturday evening a 33 l-3yds. handicap for boys took place. In all eleven entries were received, the boys being got oil' in two heats. The first heat was won easily by K. Smith (3sec.), with A. Ross (6sec.) second, and Palett (scr.) third. The second heat was wonby A. Parkinson (3sec), A. Oard, scr.,' and T. Colunib, scr., dead-heat, second. The. final was exciting right up to the last, A. Ross (osec.) just winning from A. Parkiuson (3sec.), with K. Smith (ser.) third, about a foot behind. Every Saturday evening swimming events for boys are held at tho baths. A gold medal presented by Mr. Sommervillo, dentist, _ Molesworth Street, will be given toHhe hoy securing the greatest number of points during the season. Three points Will bo given for a first, two pointsfor a second, and one point for third. Next Saturday evening a diving competition for boys will be held.;No entry fee is charged. Entries are taken'_ at' the commencement of the competition.
