UNITED STATES PRESSING THE SALE. Australian-Sew Zealand Cable Association. : Copenhagen, August 18. It is believed that ;Mie United States is pressing tho West Indies Islands sale because Ameriea fears that the islands might be ceded to another Power after the war. A high official says that the_ United States action is decidedly pvess-' ing, and it is believed if the sale is not ratified America will occupy St. Thomas Island, which lies 36 miles east of Puerto Rico.
