CLAIMS FOR GOVERNMENT (Iteuter's Telesram.) (Rcc. August 19, 5.5 p.m.) 1 London, August IS. There are 65,000 claims for assistance under the Government scheme for relieving soldiers of civil liabilities—far less than had been anticipated by the Government. Half these claims have already been met. The average of the grants is £17 10s.
