Sow-nteen thousand signatures were appended on the first day to the Bres-' Ihu Socialist petition for speedy peace without conquests. |The German Social Democratic •Party published in "Yorwaerts" a. pro.test at not being allowed to discuss war aims, although in order to make opinion in, hostile countries the Honourable Peiicc--Leagu<* • had been recently allowed publicity. The party requested signatures to a petition desiring peace which will bring the friendship of neighbouring peoples, as a guarantee of territorial integrity, "-n-' dependence, and free economic development.! ;
