NEW CANVAS CAMP

NINETEENTHS AT TAUHERENIKAU. The now canvsi3 camp at Taulierenikau, to which tho Nineteenth Infantry Reinforcements removed last Sunday, is on the site of the old camp; and it was established in every detail, under the direction of LieutenantColonel N. P. Adams, Commandant of Featherston Damp, at forty-eight hours' notice. All told, there are about four hundred tents, as well as various buildings and marquees. Tho camp is under the direct control of the Commandant at Featherston. Major Ryder is its Commandant, and Captain A. Fairbairn is Adjutant. A canteen has been set up, and tha various institutes at Featherston Camp are establishing branches at Tauherenikau. In the camp is an emergency hospital, whelo, across the main GroytownFeatherston Road, an isolation camp has been made, where contacts will be detained until all danger of infection has passed. 'l'ho men of the Nineteenths are in good spirits, and everything connected with the camp reflects credit on those connected with its establishment at such short notice. 'Among other matters to be arranged for the new camp were the taxicharges. The following scale has been approved hy the. Featherston Camp Commandant, Lieutenant-Col-onel N. P. Adams: — Featherston Camp to Featherston (and vice versa).—Single passenger, 2s. 6d.; two or three passengers, 35.; each additional passenger, Is. Tauherenikau Camp to Featherston Camp (and vice versa)— Single passenger, 2s. 6d.; two or three passengers, 35.; each additional passenger Is. Featherston Camp to OSreytown (and vice versa) — Up to four passengers, 12s. Tauherenikau Camp to Grcytown (and vice versa) —Up to four passengers, 7s. Cd.; each additional passenger, 2s. Featherston Camp to Carterton (and vice versa)—Up to five passengers, 265.; each additional passenger, as. Tauherenikau Camp to Carterton (and vico versa) —Up to four passengers, 205.; each additional passenger, 4s. Featherston Camp to Masterton (and vice versa) —Up to five passengers, "15s.
