In large manufacturing establishments' buttons on shoes and on garments are no longer sewed on by hand. The work is dono by a machine capable of sewing fifty-three hundred buttons on garments in nino hours. . This is equal to the work of about eight expert sewers. A hoy or girl can run the machine.
