Auckland, per Makura, on Monday, August 21, at 6.45 p.m. Mails for Australian States closo at Bluff, per Wimmera, on Thursday, August 24, at 4 p.m. As correspondence for all neutral countries is subject to censorship, it is urged in order to avoid delays that such correspondence be posted in ample time for the mail, the day previous to its dispatch if possible. Parcels for dispatch by steamers and trains, v/itli the exception of the usual ferry- steamers for southern offices, close at th© Chief Post Office, Wellington, one liour before tho advertised times of closing of mails. Unless otherwise specified, registered letters and parcels-post packages must be handed in and money-orders obtained one hour before tho ordinary mail closes. All books and samplc-pockets and newspapers for places within tho Dominion must bo po6ted half an hour before tho ordinary letter mail"cioscs. Late letters for mails beyond the Dominion cannot in future be posted on the steamer, but must be posted in the latcIcttor posting-box at the Chief Post Office up to the appointed time shown on tho mail notice. The parcel-post mail, per Main Trunk express, closes at the C.P.O. at 11.30 a.m. and for tho south per ferry steamer at 5.45 p.m.Tho advertised time for closing mails by steamers is liable to alteration (earlier or later) at any moment. As the last clcarance of the City receivers is made at 5.45 p.m. on Saturdays, all correspondence for tho Sunday night Auckland express mtist be posted at tho Chief Post Office not later than 8 p.m. on Sunday. The public are earnestly requested to register all letters containing money or valuables intended to be sent by post. , All tho principal mails by train and steamer close at Te Aro and Courtenay Place Post Offices at the same hours as at the Chief Post Office, with the exception that there is no late-fee clearance, and that mails by tho ferry steamers for southern offices close at 5.45 p.m. Mails for Auckland and Auckland district, per second Main Trunk express,.closo at Courtenay Place at 5.45 p.m.! and Te Aro at . 8 p.m. - . .
