Messrs. Dalgety and Co.. Ltd., report having held thier • monthly sale in the Waikana© yards 'on Tuesday, -When" they offered a small yarding of sheen, and a • ■ good yarding of cattle. Business, all round was sound, and pood prices were realised for different lines offered. They quote:—Light-weight fat wethers, 255. 4d.; ■ fat ewes, 30s. 3d.; two-year empty hoiferß, £4 35.: springing cows. £7, £7'l2s. 6(1.. to £9; good springing heifers, £8 106.-, empty ' store cows, £6 ss. At Levin sale on ■Wednesday Messrs. Dalgetv end Co. offered a. medium. yarding of sheep''and a, good yarding of . cattle. Competition all round.waß good, especially for fat sheep' and fat cattle. 7: The principal sales effected were:—Fat " wethers, 345. 6d.; fat lambs,,24s. 2d. A San Francisco shipping paper, "The Weekly Commercial ' News," which came to hand this week, . • contained a lißt of the following vessels:— Marakini (Jfaltarini), Nlwara (Niwaru), Jntralema (Indralema), Whakura (Whakarua), Muratai (Mnritai), lndrapnr (Indropura), and Neherena. (Nerehana). The correct spelling in the above list is given In parentheses.
