A BIG LAND DEAL
OPORAE ESTATE SOLD.
By Telegraph—Prcsa Association. Palmsrston North, August 17. . _ Two Palmerston. North fanners have just concluded a land deal running -well over six figures witli Messrs. Herriok Bros.' property, the Oporae Estate, 25 miles from Dannevirke.. The estate 1 oonfiista of 6000 acres, on which are five homesteads, completely equipped with a stock of 10,000 ! sheep and 1 600 cattle. A London syndicate invested £100,000 in oil boring on the' property but work was temporarily suspended \ owing to the war. The property was originally cut up and sold by, the Government in small blocks, but being then ■ all in heavy busli soon became aggregated land. It is now eminently suitable for close settlement.
