———« ' SCENES ON THE WHARF. Anotjlier clotachment of the Sixteenth Reinforcements left for Cliristchurch and Dunedin by tho Maori and Monowai last evening, and the send-off was an enthusiastic ono. Beforo tho arrival ot tho troops a largo number of relations an 3 friends had gathered to say good-bye. During tho embarkation/only ticket-holders were admitted to the wharf. At tho gates a strong guard of police . kept idle spectators, back, and it'wan witli great difficulty that tickofrliolders and passengers managed to gain tho gates. A few minutes before tho vessels' sailed tlio gates wero opened to the public, and th'o final scono was decidedly bright. This afternoon the troops will parade through-tlie streets of Cliristchurch, and on Friday afternoon Dunedin will bo visited. _ ' TEo other companies of the Sixteenth Reinforcements, under the command of Captain H. TV. King, will parado through tho streets of WcllingI tldii on Saturday afternoon.
