BRITISH DESTROYER SUNK Au6tralian-Ncw Zealand Cable Association. London, August 14. The Admiralty announces v that the destroyer Lassoo , was sunk off the Dutch coast, cither by a torpedo or a mine. Six of tlie crew are missing. THE GERMAN OFFICIAL REPORT. (Roc. August 15, 8.45 p.m.) Amsterdam, August 15. An official message from Berlin states: "Our submarines in the English Channel sauk soven English, and three French sailing ships, and three English and two French steamers, between August 2 and 10. One of our submarines torpedoed tho British, dcstroyor Lassoo in the Channel." Tho Press Bureau states that tho Lassoo sank a. few miles off tho Dutch coast, not in tho Channel, as tho German Admiralty pretends. 1 GERMAN NAVAL ACTIVITY OFF . NORWAY. Copenhagen, August 14. ' Steamers from England report that German warships, Zeppelins, and submarines . are patrolling the Norwegian coast. TRANS-ATLANTIC~STOARINE SIGHTED New London (Conn.), August 14. A foreign submarine, believed to bo German, is reported off shore.
