There was a large attendance of Ma. kara. residents present in the hall on Wednesday evening last, when the Rev. H. F. Wilson, of Khandallah, deliver, cd an instructive and interesting lee. turc on the present war, illustrated by means of his powerful lantern. The pictures wore screened very clearly, showing naval submarine and aircraft and land forces, also trench and field actions. On the motion of the Rev. Mr. Woodward, Karori, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Wilsoiii for coming all the way from Khaudallah to ontertain them. Where Uio New Zealand Express Co. is ahead of other carrying companies is that it is the only firm ot the kind to have its own offices in all principal towns in the Dominion.
