London, August 11. The Portuguese President (Senhor Bernardino Machado), telegraphing to • the Paris "Journal" states: "We nave ; already . sent soldiers to East Africa, and now we are going to fight also on the European front, where we will be .proud to co-operate with, the Allies." INTERNED VESSELS. SIXTY-FOUR RELEASED. Lisbon, August 11. The Government will probably retain sixteen German ships and hand to England sixty-four vessels.
