A .Turkish communique dated Wednesday says: "Russian forces in the Caucasus defending the region of Bitlis and Mush were gradually driven bacK by the pressure of our right wing, losing many prisoners and guns. The mountain cliains south - "- of Bitlis and Mush were completely fortified and stubbornly defended, but were reconquered entirely on August 7. That night the Turks occupied Bitlis, and the next morning captured Mush. Two companies of Russian infantry surrendered. We are pursuing the enemy in tho direction of Rave^inurad." KUT PRISONERS. (Roc. August 12, 8.20 p.m.) t London, August 12. ' It has been ascertained that British prisoners taken at Kut have been distributed in groups in tho Angola region. They are badly housed, * lack | warm clothing, and are on a bread and j water diet.
