August 17, at 1 p.m. Mails for Fiji and Samoa closo at Auckland, per Kauri, this day at 12.45 p.m. Mails for Australian States and South Africa close at Auckland, per Westralia, on Monday, August 14, at 4.15 p.m. As coftespondence for all neutral conntries is subject to censorship, it is urged in order io avoid delays that such correspondence be posted in ample time for tho mail, tho day previous, to its dispatch if possible. - Parcels for dispatch by steamers and trains, with. tho exception of the usual ferry steamers for southern offices, close at the Chief Post Office, Wellington, on® hour before tho advertised times of clo3' ing of mails. Unless otherwise specified, registered letter# and parcels-post packages must bo handed in and money-orders obtained one hour before tho ordinary mail closes. All books and sample-packets and newspapers for places within tho Dominion must be posted half an hour before the ordinary letter mail closes. Late loiters for mails beyond tho Do. minion cannot in future be posted on the steamer, but must bo posted in the lateletter poeting-box at tho Chief Post Office up to the appointed time shown on tho mail notice. Ph© parcol-post mail, per Main Trunk express, closes at the C.P.O. at 11.30 a.m., and for tho south per forry oteamcr at 5.45 p.m. Tho advertised time for closing mails by steamers is liable to alteration (earlier or later) at any moment. As the last clearance of the City receivers is made at 5.45 p.m. on Saturdays, all correspondence for tho Sunday night Auckland express must be posted at the Chief Post Office not later than 8 p.m. on Sunday. Tho public are earnestly requested to register all letters containing money or valuables intended to be sent by post. All tho principal mails by train and steamer close at Te Aro and Conrtenay Place Post Offices at tho same hours as at the Chief Post Ofiico, with tho exception that there is no late-feo clearance, and that mails by tho ferry stealers for southern offices close at 5.45 p.m. Mails for Auckland and Auckland district, per second Main Trunk express, close at Courtenay Place at 5.45 p.m. and Te Aro at 8 p.m. A.
