DISCHARGED SOLDIERS
EMPLOYMENT WANTED. 011 August 9 there, were 5303 men on the register of the Discharged Soldiers' Information Department. Of these, 3577 cases had been disposed of, 1.071) were under action, and 656 were not ready for action. The following are particulars of the cases dealt with: (a) Left Now Zealand or cannot ascertain address, 125; (b) re-enlisted or returned to military duty,, or have work tu return ro, etc., 1411; (c) men who have signed "assistance not required," .893; (d) men placed' in employment., S'lB; (e) men who havo not responded to repeated communications, and men who have, accepted work the Department found for them but failed to start work, 134: (f) men who have drawn sections of land, 110; total, 3577. '
Cases under Action—(a) Reports upon cases not yet returned by officeis making inquiries, 205: (h) waiting further 'advice (chiefly men who have stated that they are not yet. desirous of work), .>l3; («) at present, on Employment Waited Register, 322: total. 1070.

Six iiiinlacGil men in the AVcllington district have iioen nominated for diftcrcut positions, bub employment is wanted for a married couple, whero husband would have light station work and wife act as governess to owner's children.
